Hey guys, it's Colin here at etrailer. Today, we're going to take a quick look at, and then I'll show you how to install, the folding ladder brackets from . Now, what these brackets do is, that they Mount to your pioneer platform rack, and it's going to allow you to load up your folding ladder on the side of your pioneer rack, instead of on top. That's going to create more space on top for any cargo luggage or anything else you might want to load. These brackets are going to be compatible with the Rhino Rack, aluminum folding ladder, and how it secures is, we have these brackets on each rung, and then we're going to have the hand knobs tightened down on that bolt. It's going to make it a secure fit for the ride. Now, what I really like about these ladder brackets is that they're really helping you utilize your pioneer rack to its full capability. They didn't just put those T-tracks up there for the fun of it.
They wanted you to be able to utilize them, to get stuff loaded on the side and not only is it going to be helpful, but it's kind of going to give your vehicle that more off-road or utility look to it.With the ladder loaded on the side, it is also going to be easier to pack it up when you're done loading. The point of the ladder is to give you that extra height, to be able to load up your pioneer rack with ease. But if you have to fold it up and then put it on your pioneer rack, that kind of defeats the purpose of it.So, instead we have it mounted on the side, and it's very easy to unload to get in use as well. We'll just loosen up these hand knobs on both sides all the way, And then we'll pull the brackets off of the rungs and they just swing down like that. Now we can pull the ladder off unfold it, and get it in use.Now with the rack empty, we can see, we have a very strong and durable powder-coated steel construction, and it's also going to be corrosion resistant.
Thanks to that powder coat. Now we have a better look at it utilizing the T slot and our pioneer rack. You see, there's a bracket underneath. We just have our Allen bolts tightened down. We do have a certain spread between our brackets that we need, and you can find that measurement in your instructions. When you're done loading it back up as it breeze as well. Now, if you are worried about the security of your ladder, there is an optional cable lock that you can purchase to put also in the T slot. And you can wrap the cable around your ladder and keep it secure to your roof.
It's going to be a very quick and easy installation. I'll go ahead and show you how to do that right now. Now, when installing it, there is a bit of pre-assembly. One thing you got to do is get your two Allen bolts installed onto this plate right here. You see they just threaded on. We also have a flat washer and a lock washer on those Allen bolts. Then our long bolts right here, needs to come through from the back.
We take one of our nuts, put it all the way down and tighten it down so it's kind of sandwiched right there. The second one is going to go down, it's going to be about 40 millimeters from the end of our threads, right there. Do that on both sides. We already have our one side installed. Let's get this one up there as well. And I will just take our bracket, feed it into the T slot right there, and slide it over. Now, like I said earlier, we need to make sure we get it to the correct spread between our two brackets. Again, you can find that measurement in your instructions. Now that we've got our measurement from center on center of our brackets, we'll go ahead and tighten it down. We're just going to start with our hands first. And then we'll grab our included tool. Tighten down the rest of the way. Now we can get our ladder loaded up. What we're going to do is bring it, and load the top of it first, under the hooks. And bring it down and set it onto the bottom slots. Now we can take our bracket, get it installed onto the bolt right there. We're going to push it down until it makes contact with that nut. And then we'll take our hand knob and thread that on. Then we're just going to get it all the way down until it makes contact with the bracket. We're not going to fully tighten it down until we get the other side installed. Now that we have both sides installed, we'll go ahead and tighten down both of the hand knobs at the same time. Once you've got it all secure, you're going to be ready to hit the road.Thank you all for watching. That's going to do it for a look at the folding ladder brackets from Rhino Rack..
