What's up everybody! It's AJ with www.etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out this measuring strip for your Rhino rack, Vortex crossbars, or Euro crossbars. They go right here on the back side and snap right into place. Just like that. These are great option for maybe you misplace your measuring strips. Maybe they got damaged, or maybe you just got a new car, so you're getting a new foot pack.
And so, you can still use your old bars but you have to get new strips to cut them to length. That way, if you take them on and off your car all the time, you don't have to remeasure every single time you install them. Just some tips. If you wanna get it out of the bars, you can use something like a trim panel tool we have here that has just that flat edge to it. You can just kind of pry up a little bit here on the edge.
Just like that. Get it started. And then, you can use your hand for the rest of it. Just helps to get that started. Now also, when you're gonna cut it to length, when you got it installed with your foot kit, I would recommend using cutters.
It's got a flat edge versus scissors. It's kind of angled because you wanna make sure you get that cut, nice and straight, so the measurement's gonna be correct. Also, they come in a quantity of one. So if you're replacing your whole set, you're gonna need four of them, and they only come with one. So, go ahead and make sure you get the appropriate amount.
That's really all there is to it. It's a pretty easy part to order and replace on your own. It doesn't take very long and it just looks nicer with it too. Well, thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helped..

It is also the last one they had so can’t send me a replacement. Rhino rack will not support and has no parts as it is discontinued. Parts sent do not fit and nobody can do much about it. Second issue I’ve had with etrailer and disappointed. Need to think about if will ever use etrailer again in the future.
This is hard to write. The first time I ordered this part, it was bent into a bubble mailer envelope and cracked on both sides so that I could not use it. I called customer service and they sent a replacement. This replacement IS THE WRONG PART! It does NOT fit the rhino rack aero bars. At least this time it was sent in a box, with a piece of packing paper on top! One mistake handled and another one made. This does not make me want to continue purchasing from etrailer. This is now the third time I’ve experienced a mistake in terms of order fulfillment and it creates delays in using the final product.
in July 2017 I ordered a Rhino Rack Roof Mount Cargo Basket (Code RMCB, 47" x 35") and Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Bar Roof Rack mounting bars (Code RRVA126S-2, 49" long) and Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - Raised (Code RRSX005) which I love. However there was always a high pitched whistling noise and it was annoying. Apparently I either didn't see the "Measuring strips" in the box or they didn't come with it but they are needed to cover the open gap under the bars where the rails slide in to adjust. So in July of 2018 I ordered the "Measuring strips" that you cut and install in the slot under the aluminum bars to eliminate the whistling noise.
I had to buy 4 kits (2 strips in each kit) and after installing them the noise is gone! So now I have very little noise coming from the roof of my Renegade now so the Aerodynamic bars were well worth it. (I have friends / family that have different bars and they are very noisy)
eTrailer support was very helpful and expedient in sending me the kits. I've bought a lot of stuff from them over the years (Curtis roof rack, roof rack luggage bag, trailer hitch carrier / bag, 2" hitch, hitch lockable pin, etc.) and highly recommend them and their products.

Great Product,
Was tired of broken pole tips every time I went to the lake with my boat. Trolling motor battery would inevitably roll over the poles and do some damage. Found this to be a great addition to my Rhino rack crossbars, along with also fitting my bed rack when the roof top tent is not on. Definitely not aerodynamic, but thats not the objective, it works, and I am excited about it fitting my skis come this winter.
Was trying to order the strips for the smaller groove on the bottom of the vortex bars, but....

The attached photo shows the original narrower strip fitting the bottom channel. The newer one is the width of the top channel

I reached out to the manufacturer and I am unsure as to how this happened however the smaller strip that is in the bar is one that is used with the square Euro style bar and the replacement strip that you received is the one that is used with the Vortex bar - which is the bar that you have. I am not sure why smaller strip came with your roof rack however the larger strip is the one that should fit.
Not as pictured and didn’t fit my product. Total waste of time.

You mentioned that it not as pictured and did not fit. I wanted to see if you would be able to send a picture? Were you using in Rhino Rack bars? Were you looking for the measuring strip or to replace the rubber strips in the top of the bars?

I am sending you pictures of what was on the site and what I received. You can see the difference both in length -pic of strip on the website went out to 270mm and what I received was significantly shorter - and underside -the pic on the site shows ridges that allow the strip to slide into the underside of the bar what I received is to slinder and will not fit-.

I contacted Rhino Rack and the measuring strip needed for the square bars is part number M332. There is limited stock available for them however we do not carry them on our site. Rhino Rack still has them and they can be ordered directly from them.
The product cost $[XX]. Because I needed the items here asap, the shipping was $[XX]. Measurement strips for a Vortex Aero Bar. etrailer BENT the strips in half so that two out of four have warped strippings now. Wow. Thank you SO MUCH for that one.

I wanted to reach out to you in regards to your experience with the measuring strip. These strips are meant to be cut to fit the underside of the cross bar. Is it not fitting for you?
