How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at the Rhino-Rack Vortex roof rack for your 2025 Kia Sportage. Now, adding a roof rack to the top of your vehicle is gonna help you with the issue of having limited cargo space and allows you to take advantage of that negative space on top of your vehicle for those bigger or bulkier items. So let's take a closer look at it and see what's special about it. So taking a closer look at our vortex bars, you can take the shape themselves is a little bit unique. This is designed to allow it to cut through the air a lot better and it helps reduce wind noise.
Now, one thing to consider what these types of things, if you have gaps underneath your feet and just in general, if you don't have your strip all the way in, you're gonna always have wind noise. It's just the nature of these type of products. But the design of it is to help kind of dampen it down some. The capacity is right at 165, but you definitely want to check your Kia recommended weight capacity and stay within it. These guys are constructed with aluminum and you have the arrow strip on top that you can cut the size if you wanna take advantage of your T-channel track.
Now, the end cap itself comes with a plastic lock, but you can switch these guys out to a keyed lock core and have it keyed alike to your other Rhino-Rack products. The seal on this guy is actually pretty good if you just take the time to make sure you get it aligned and it wraps around pretty well. The setup is super easy. You only need the tool that it comes with as well as a tape measure and you'll be able to get it going. As far as the installation, it's pretty straight away and it's one of the easier roof rack installs.
More importantly, what it does for you, it helps solve the problem of having limited space inside of your Sportage, so you can take advantage of the space on top of your vehicle so you can get out there and make those memories. And here at Etrailer, we are a community of enthusiasts and we just love having that interaction with you. So send us some photos of how your setup is and I'll show you how to get this installed. Now that you have everything laid out, only thing you're gonna really need is your tape measure. Rhino-Rack is one of the easiest setups as far as raised rails and it's no different with the Sportage.
This guy has a little catch right here that's gonna go right along your T-track. And then once you tighten it down, it pushes out. So I already measured, and it's right at about 41 inches across with my tape measure. So I'm just gonna kind of position my spread right here and I'm gonna take it to the top. Now, you wanna make sure you don't put your end cap on yet 'cause you have to have clearance for your tool. Throw this guy over to the other side, rest it on the other bar and then I can just put it down here. I'm gonna go to the other side, make my adjustments, grab my tape measure and make sure I'm at my spread, and then we'll fasten this guy down. All right. And now, I'm right at my 29-inch spread. One of the cool things about having a raised rail is the fact that you can spread it out however you need for whatever accessory, so it gives you a lot of good opportunity for positioning. I'm gonna grab my included torque wrench and this guy's gonna start, let me know right when I get to the necessary tension. Now, one thing that I found is that these guys kind of pull, so you don't wanna fully tighten on the first pass. You want to get it a little bit tight here, go to the other side and come back just so you can make sure it's even. All right. Now, we're gonna get this guy, there we go. Gotta feel good about that. And we're gonna just put our end cap on, lock this guy down. So now, as you can see, nice and secure, nice and tight on top of the vehicle. This has been a look at the Rhino-Rack Vortex roof rack on your 2025 Kia Sportage. I'm Ed, this is Etrailer, and you have a great day.
