Today we'll be taking a look at the Rhino Rack Rack Pads with straps for Pioneer Platform racks, part number RR43150. These versatile rack pads allow you to carry a kayak, stand up paddle board, or surfboard on your Pioneer Platform Rack. The kit comes with two rack pads and two tie down straps. Each pad measures 28 inches long and it's quick and easy to attach to your platform with our hook-and-loop tape. Now that we've gone over some features, we're going to show you how to get this installed. Our kit comes with everything that you see here, except we have two pads. Our first one is already installed on our platform, so we're going to show you this last one. We also have our two Cam Buckle straps that will secure down any loads that we have. We've gone ahead and pre-measured where we want our pad to sit for the back, since we are using a surfboard today.
We'll start by opening up our hook-and-loop straps here. Then we'll just place this on our vehicle. We'll take our pad and we'll set it down in line with our front, and then start to secure our hook-and-loops straps. Now we're ready to load up our board. We're just going to set it down and slide it into place. We have our Cam Buckle straps here.
They are 11 and a half feet long and they come equipped with a great strap keeper here to tie off any of your excess strap. We'll start by undoing our strap. We'll take it underneath our platform here and I like to rest that Cam Buckle up on our board. Then I'll throw it over the back portion to the other side. We'll take that strap underneath our back bar and we'll pull it back over to the other side once again. Now we'll take our strap and feed it through the Cam Buckle and get that as tight as we can. Now we'll take our strap keeper and we'll just secure down that excess.
Now we'll do the same with the front strap. If you have longer loads, such as kayaks or stand up paddle boards, I always suggest purchasing some balance stern straps. We do have a few available here at etrailer.com. I would suggest using part number RRRBAS1. We're just going to fit on our strap here to secure our excess.
And now we're ready to hit the road. That's going to complete our look at the Rhino Rack Rack Pads with straps for Pioneer Platform Racks, part number RR43150.
