Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the Putco Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar
Hello everybody, this is Jeff JD trailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Putco 60 inch long direct fit blade LED tailgate light bar. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2019 and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks. Now on a custom fit part like this, I do recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now, this is a tailgate light bar which will provide nice auxiliary tail stop, turn and backup light functions.
Basically this light bar will install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate between the tailgate and the bumper. The LED's on this light bar will produce a nice bright red amber or white light based on which signal is being used. Now, at the end of this video I am gonna connect the slide to some 12 volt power just to show you how the light bar works, how bright it is. But at first I wanna go over some of the features of it. So we're gonna zoom in, you can see it up close.
This light bar does use the COB LED technology which is chip onboard technology. This will create a nice, bright solid panel of light. The LED chips, if you notice are mounted close together for uniform high intensity light, similar to a lighting panel. It is a nice seal lens in housing unit which is waterproof. Has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods.
And if you notice it has a tinted polycarbonate housing which provides a nice sleek look when this is installed. Now, this is a simple installation, comes with the included automotive grade 3m tape, the mounting clips, the connectors you need. What's nice, it also comes with this quick connect custom fit wiring harness that'll plug into your vehicle's existing light connections. And on this end has the four way plug that the light bar four way will plug into. So basically there's no cutting or splicing of any wires.
Application, this is for full size trucks, the dimension again, the length of this light bar is 60 inches long, width of it is only five eights of an inch. Height is only three eights of an inch. Now, I would've mention the backup light. The backup light color is a cool white color and it has an output of over 3000 lumens so it's very bright. I am gonna show you that also. So we are connected to some 12 volt power. So now what I'm gonna do is go ahead and turn on our power. Now with our power on you'll be able to see the light bar all lit up. I am gonna go ahead and turn off the overhead lights just so you can see the light better. So now with the overhead lights off, you'll be able to see the light bar all lit up. This is what it would be look like when your tail lights are on or your running lights. And then when you hit your brakes, you'll notice that the slight bar will get brighter just like your brake lights will. And then when you go to your turn signals, what you'll notice, is when you go ahead and hit your passenger side, you'll notice the amber lights, it's a roll of amber lights right under the red lights that'll come on and flashes your turn signal. And then when you do the driver's signal, you see the driver's turn signal is the same way, it's a roll of amber lights right under the red lights that'll flash as a turn signal. And then I wanted to mention that backup light as I mentioned earlier, you'll notice when you go into reverse and your backup lights come on, you'll notice how it's a very nice, cool white color, bet you notice how bright it is. As we mentioned, it's over 3000 lumens. So when you do go into reverse, pretty much anybody behind you will be able to see that you're going in reverse. We'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights. Turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on this Putco 60 inch long direct fit blade LED tailgate light bar..
