Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this Pullrite OEX Super Fifth Wheel Hitch. Now this fifth wheel hitch has been designed to fit your 2010 and newer Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty with the OEM Prep Package. On custom fit parts such as this hitch, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide. Enter the year, make and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.

This fifth wheel hitch is going to mount in your Super Duty's truck bed, so you can tow your fifth wheel trailer working with the factory installed fifth wheel towing prep package from Ford. So why would you consider a Pullrite Hitch Well Pullrite's OEX line of hitches are uniquely designed to give you more options. So if you prefer a different coupling method sometime down the road after having this for a while, this is going to give you the ability to swap this head out without the cost of buying a whole new hitch. For instance, you could swap out this included head for the Pullrite Superlite Head that you see there on your screen. It's gonna give you an upgraded towing experience without investing in an all new hitch.

And this head is going to be pretty easy to remove from the base. This is secured by a pin and clip here in the center. So you'll just remove the pin and clip and then lift this out of the base and then you're gonna be able to swap this head out. This hitch is made here in the USA from high quality American steel and it is SAE-J2638 tested to a gross towing weight of 25,000 pounds and a vertical load limit of 6,250 pounds. But this is also one of the lightest 25K hitches on the market today.

These OEX hitches are relatively lightweight with two thirds of the amount of lifting weight compared to similar brands at about 100 pounds without the hitch head included into the base or installed into the base. Now, the uniquely designed interchangeable coupler assembly has the ability to give you enough rearward offset to be the second best solution for a short bed truck. The best solution obviously being a slider hitch. But this has the ability of giving you a full four inches of additional cab clearance when you rotate the hitch head plates. So when you remove this coupler head, you can rotate the hitch plates and rotate them to give you that additional clearance.

So when you rotate the plates, that's going to allow you then to mount this coupler head a little bit farther out and then that's going to give you that four inches of clearance that you are going to need. So this does provide some flexibility in that way. Now this also has the ability to have the height adjusted. So this is going to give you a vertical height adjustment from 16.25 inches all the way up to 18.75 inches, allowing you to make your fifth wheel as level as possible with your tow vehicle. Now let me give you an overhead view here real quick. And what's nice about this is this does not require any adapters, rails, or tools to install or remove in and out of the bed of your truck. It installs and removes quickly and easily. There's not gonna be any binding unlike other OE puck systems. And this is going to drop into the four receiver pucks in the bed of your truck that are built into your factory under bed rails and then it secures in place with these removable top mounted mounting posts. So I just wanna give you a brief demonstration of how this works. I'm gonna remove the bale pin here. And when you rotate the handles out in this orientation, that's going to allow you to drop this into the puck system in the bed of your truck. And then once you have it in the pucks, you're just going to rotate it back this direction and then that's going to secure the base in place in the pucks. Let me give you a closeup view here just to show you what's going on when you rotate this handle. So when you rotate it out in this direction, that's going to allow you to drop it into the puck, and then once you have it into the pucks, you'll rotate it back in that position. And then giving you another overhead view, you'll just take the bale pins and then that's going to secure the handles in place. And so this is going to be secured in your puck system. And again, this is gonna be very easy to remove. So you're gonna have the ability to remove this to allow you to then have your truck bed open so you can go back to hauling when you're not towing. Now this does feature a self-locking hitch plate that's going to make it very easy for hookup. The jaw is going to close and then the handle when the jaw closes, is going to automatically lock when the king pin is in place. So let me go ahead and give you a brief demonstration. I've got my king pin here. I'm gonna go ahead and couple just like that. So as you can see, the jaw automatically closed around the king pin and my handle locked into place. And the precisely laser cut wraparound jaw components cradle the trailer's king pin 140 degrees for a secure tight fit, which is going to create less rattle and offer more security than the slide bar jaws. The dual articulating head is going to move in all four directions for easier hookup on uneven ground, and also giving you a smoother ride. And then this extended handle is going to help keep you out of the bed of your truck when you need to uncouple. And let me give you a brief demonstration of that. So as you can see, that allows me to easily uncouple just like that. So if you are looking for a lightweight 25K fifth wheel hitch that is going to drop into your Ford Super Duty's factory puck system and then give you additional coupling options down the road, this is really going to be a great option for you to consider. Installed the PullRite OEX hitch last month in my new 2025 Ram 2500 and went on our first trip last week, 347 miles round trip thru the hills and mountains of Pennsylvania and New York to Cooperstown for a week of baseball.
I installed the hitch by myself with the 4” offset away from the truck cab. It took me about 1 hour with double checking leg adjustment and the torque on each bolt. I used the highest setting to start with. When I hooked up to check clearance, I found the trailer was too high and lowered to the middle setting. This gave me a level trailer and 6” clearance between my truck rail and the trailer.
I am pulling a Grand Design Reflection 295RL with a Turning Point pin box that is locked out at the PullRite hitch. Between the Turning Point hitch and the OEX offset I have more turning clearance the ever before.
Pulling the trailer was excellent. I experienced no chucking. Hooking up and disconnecting was smooth and easy.
Overall- I’m very happy and glad I got this PullRite hitch.

    Hey Larry, The PullRite OEX Super 5th-Wheel Hitch # PUL79ZR base weighs in at 101 lbs so you're dropping the overall weight by 42 lbs by removing the top part. If you want something lighter we have the PullRite OEX SuperLite # PUL89ZR which has a slightly different design, but the base only weighs in at 85 lbs and the top stays installed on your pin box so it's a little easier to use.   • Is There Pullrite Fifth Wheel Hitch that Fits OEM Rail Kit of 2011 Ford F-250 Long Bed
    Hey William, the PUllrite 3100 setup is only designed to work in 1500 series trucks that have a bed that is shorter than 6 foot. There isn't a way to adapt it to fit your F-250 long bed. Pullrite does have a fifth wheel hitch that fits directly to the rail kit of your 2011 Ford F-250 though with the part # PUL79ZR which has a 25k capacity and has a really nice jaw design that will give you a nice and smooth ride quality.
