Your truck doesn't have to be dedicated just to hauling your 5th-wheel trailer and nothing else. This hitch is so lightweight, it's no big deal to take it out for a weekend when you want to use your truck bed for a project. The head comes off the base, and the base itself removes in a few steps. With the head removed, the base weighs just 94 lbs.
As soon as the king pin is in the right spot, the jaws on this 5th-wheel hitch lock automatically. The jaw is designed as a single piece that wraps around the king pin in a 360-degree grip that is more secure than the traditional slide-bar jaw. More secure also means less noise! The jaw holds the king pin tightly so it doesn't rattle so much.
Getting your truck into just the right place is a tricky business. You need a hitch that will meet you in the middle. The head is able to pivot front-to-back and side-to-side so it can help you find the king pin. This also improves your ride, since it is able to move with the bumps and turns of the road instead of chucking.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this PullRite ISRX Super Fifth Wheel for your industry standard rails. Now, if your truck already has industry standard rails, this hitch is gonna be a relatively simple drop-in replacement. So what's nice about this type of setup is you're not gonna have to purchase custom rails or adapters. So that's gonna help you save installation time and cost. So this is just going to pin and clip into your current rails, and the pins and clips are included.
And so this is going, like I said, to be a pretty simple installation. And what's nice about this setup from PullRite is your truck doesn't have to be dedicated to just hauling your fifth wheel trailer and nothing else. This hitch is relatively lightweight, so it's really not gonna be a big deal to take this out for a weekend when you wanna use your truck bed for maybe a project or something like that, you need to haul something, you need the room. So this head is going to come off the base pretty easily. It's just held into place by a pin and clip here on the side that you probably can't see here, but you just remove that pin and clip and that's going to allow you to lift this head out of the base.
And then the base itself, you'll just disengage the pins and clips, you'll remove them and lift the base off of those industry standard rails. The base itself weighs about 90 pounds or so. So compared to other fifth wheel hitches out there, this is relatively lightweight and easy to manage. So this hitch is made from high quality steel and it is SAE J2638 tested to a gross towing weight of 24,000 pounds and a vertical load limit of 6,000 pounds. Now when you are on a long trip, the last thing that you really want to deal with is a noisy hitch rattling behind you in the bed of your truck.
Fortunately, this gives you a precisely laser cut wraparound jaw that's going to significantly cut down on rattle. So with that secure grip, this premium single hook jaw is going to keep your ride smooth. It's gonna ensure a quieter towing experience the whole way through. And this features an automatic locking jaw that's going to quickly latch to your trailer's king pin. So I have a king pin here, and let me just give you a brief example of that.
So as you can see, you're going to be quickly, into place, quickly coupled and connected and it's going to do a great job of holding that into place, limiting that rattle. And if you probably notice here, this handle snaps into a locked position once that king pin is in place. So the hookup is gonna be very simple. And then, uncoupling or disconnecting is going to be just as simple by pulling back on this lever just like that. And then, you'll be able to quickly disconnect. Now, something else that I wanted to mention is this uniquely designed coupler assembly is going to give you enough rearward offset to be just about the second best solution for a short bed truck. Of course, the best solution for a short bed truck is going to be a slider option, but this is going to give you a full four inches of additional cab clearance when you rotate the hitch head plates that you can see right here. So when you rotate these plates, that's going to change the positioning and give you that four inches of additional cab clearance. So that's a nice addition that this offers. And then this, of course, is also going to give you three height settings to allow you to make your fifth wheel as level as possible with your tow vehicle. You're also not gonna have to worry about bumpy rides or trailer sway even on uneven roads. This hitch does come equipped with this dual articulating hitch head that's going to pivot front to back and side to side. Of course, that's gonna help minimize chucking and contribute to a smoother, more stable towing experience. So if you think that this is going to be a great option for you when you go ahead and you get this installed in the bed of your truck, we would love to hear back from you whether you drop a review on this product page, shoot us an email, or give us a call, let us know how you're gonna be using this, how often you're gonna be using it, how installation went, and how easy it is to use this. And on top of all that, we'd really love to see pictures of your towing setup as well. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
