Question:

Im looking for new axles for my trailer, which will max out at 9000 lbs. A pair of 5200-lb. axles would be overkill for this load but 3500-lb. axles obviously wont do. I noticed this product in your store: PR626 A pair of 4500-lb. axles would be an ideal solution for me. Can I get those through you? I didnt see any listed online. Please let me know, thanks!

Since you mention that your trailer will max out 9,000 pounds, which I assume includes the weight of the trailer frame and all cargo, I recommend going with the Timbren Axle-Less Suspension, # ASR5200S01.

I spoke with my shop manager regarding whether he felt using the 5,200 pound axles would be overkill. He strongly recommends going with an axle that has a higher capacity than the amount of weight that you plan to carry and feels that the 5,200 capacity axles would be a good choice. By doing so you won't risk exceeding the axle capacity if you should choose to throw an extra toolbox or another heavy item on the trailer.

When it comes to hubs and brakes for part # ASR5200S01, I suggest taking a look at the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly, # 8-201-5UC3-EZ, and the Dexter Hydraulic Drum Brake Assembly, # 23-324 for left hand and # 23-325 for right hand.

If you choose to have brakes on the front "axle" only, you could use the Dexter Idler Hub Assembly, # 8-213-5UC1-EZ, for the remaining "axle."

Hello Could I use the 5200lbs kit on my airstream 325 classic motorhome. Will my hubs bearings transfer to you spindles airstream had 5000lb dexter torsion axles with hubs and drums spaced out for airstream 10 bolt 19.5 wheels inland rv now uses 8 bolt drums and hubs. Same dexter axle and spindles though. Thanks

The Axle-Less System # ASR5200S01 will work on your Airstream. With regards to using your existing hubs though you'll want to verify that they are compatible with these spindles. Pull one of your hubs and check for the inner and outer bearing numbers (they will be stamped right inside the bearings themselves). If they use the 25580 inner bearing and 14125A outer bearing you're good to go.
