Question:
2026 FOREST RIVER WILDWOOD 50 amp service May I hook my 50 amp Watch Dog up to the 30 amp pedestal with a 30 to 50 mighty cord ? the mighty cord is first then the dog. not sure if i would get a miss reading?

Hey Dean! Yes, you can absolutely run your 50 amp Power Watchdog # HU92VR in that setup without any issues. When you plug into a 30 amp pedestal using your Mighty Cord adapter like # A10-3050FHVP, the Watchdog will still function as intended.
It will read the incoming power, check for wiring faults, and provide surge protection as expected. Also, you won’t get any false or inaccurate readings just because you’re stepping down to 30A service. Putting the adapter first and then the Watchdog is the correct order.
The only real difference is that you will be limited to 30 amps of available power instead of 50. Everything will work safely, but you will want to be mindful about running multiple high-draw appliances at the same time to avoid tripping the pedestal breaker.
Any big trips coming up with your Wildwood?
