Are Ridges Still Present in Truck Bed with Black Armor Truck Bed Mat

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 10/12/2025

Question:

I have been looking at the black armour truck mat for my GMC Sierra 1500. We told heavy equipment in and out of it and the equipment weighs about 400lbs. The challenge we have with the factory beds is the grooves damage the wheels of the equipment when they dont line up perfectly. Do you have any similar applications or how do I test if the rubber will bind up when rolling the equipment in and whether the grooves will still appear with that kind of weight? Happy for any ideas on other products as well. Thanks - Tim

Hey Tim, the Black Armour Heavy-Duty Custom Truck Bed Mat # BA99AR is so thick that the ridges of your bed aren't going to be pronounced at all and your equipment will easily be able move without damaging the wheels. This is 1/2 inch thick.

Now this is a fit for long bed Ford trucks so you would need to let me know what year GMC Sierra you have as well as what length bed and I'll be able to let you know what you'd need.

Hey Tim, did you get a chance to try the Black Armour bed mat with your Sierra and see how it handled the 400‑lb equipment? Once you know how it performed, that feedback could really help others moving heavy gear in similar trucks.
