Recommended Hitch for a 2025 Acura MDX

Question:

Acura MDX 2025 Model S Trailer hitch. From what I see the only hitch that fits with a spare tire is the DrawTight DT42MR but only with the temporary spare not a full spare? Does this hitch require trimming the fascia? Does this hitch require modifying the rear hatch opening sensor as per your videos?

Hey Richard. The Draw-Tite Hitch item # DT42MR has the same spare tire restrictions as the other two hitches that fit the 2025 Acura MDX. This hitch does require trimming of the rear fascia. I have attached a picture below from the instructions that show you the cuts.

As far as modifying the rear hatch sensor, we've had some state that the hitch partially interferes with the sensors. If the user waves their foot to the right or left of the receiver tube by a few inches, in most cases the sensors will read the movement and the rear hatch will open. Basically a trial and error kind of deal. If you need to relocate the sensor you'll have to reach out to Acura as we do not carry it.

Hey Richard, did you find that the Draw-Tite hitch worked well with your Acura MDX? I'm curious to know if the sensor adjustment was necessary, as it could help others with similar setups.
