Recommended Trailer Hitch for Optimal Ground Clearance on a 2025 Toyota Sienna

Updated 07/02/2025 | Published 03/11/2025

Question:

I am looking for a hitch to install on my 2025 Toyota Sienna. Can you tell me which of the hitches that work for this vehicle has the slimmest profile? I dont see any specific size specifications on the website. I would like the slimmest profile hitch possible, since Sienna vans ride so low. Thank you!

Hey Matthew, out of the three hitches you're going to want the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C22UR. This one sits the highest off the ground at 11" from the ground to the top of the receiver opening. Still not super high up, but not terribly low either.

This hitch has a 3,500 lb towing capacity, a 350 lb tongue weight capacity, and includes the complete hardware kit for install.

If you don't already have a set, you're also going to need a wiring harness # C59236 to provide lights to anything you put in your hitch.

What are you planning on towing? If you think of anything else you need, drop a comment below and let me know!

Thanks Bryce. Very helpful info! Do you know which model of the 2025 Sienna you used for the measurement? I ask because one of the 2025 Sienna models ("Woodland") comes with an additional 1/2" of clearance and a factory-installed 1.25" hitch. I'm considering whether I may get the Woodland model and replacing the factory installed 1.25" hitch with the 2" CURT #C22UR or just get one of the other Sienna models and install the 2" CURT #C22UR. Thank you so much! -Matt

@MattS Hey Matt, it looks like it was the XLE trim!

@BryceD Just to doublecheck... For the Sienna XLE, would an ecohitch provide some additional clearance compared to the ~11" clearance of the Curt model C22UR?

@MattS Hey Matt, So EcoHitch does offer a hitch for the 2025 Sianna XLE, part EH22SR. This is currently unavailable and on extended backorder. Could be another 3 or so months until we get them back in stock. Since we don't have them on hand I'm afraid I can't give you the exact ground clearance measurement. Generally the EcoHitches do have better ground clearance than other brand hitches, but I do not have any concrete numbers for you at this time. It will most likely be right around or just over 11".

Based on this suggestion, I purchased from etrailer and professionally installed the recommended Curt. Clearance is only 8.5”. How could it be so different from your estimate? Tire pressure is at 38, 3 over recommendation.

@MatthewS That is pretty odd, you measure from top of hitch opening correct?

@JamesonC No, to bottom of hitch as is shown in the photo provided by Bryce.

@MatthewS Gotcha, yeah so Bryce misspoke in his original answer. It's 11 inches from the ground to the top of the hitch opening. If you look at the tape measure in the picture you can see if you look closely.
