Question:

You have a video that shows how to install PK11893 on a 2000 ford expedition. But when I go to it on your web site, it says that this part doesnt fit my 2000 ford expedition. Which is it?

Hello Scott, thanks for reaching out. The Pollak Replacement 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket # PK11893 connects to a standard USCAR connector. So it can absolutely be used on a 2000 Ford Expedition, so long as the vehicle is pre-wired with a USCAR connector. If your Expedition came with a factory 7-way plug, it will already have the USCAR connector behind the bumper, so the # PK11893 can easily be plugged in.

Does your Expedition have any kind of factory trailer connector? Reply below and let me know and I can get back to you with exactly what parts you will need here.

I have a 2000 ford expedition eddie bauer trim with factory tow package. According to the documentation it has a USCAR connector. Does the PK11893 have the same bolt (4 bolt) pattern/spacing as the factory original?

@ScottI Yes it should. The holes on the Pollak PK11893 are 2-1/2" apart across and 1-3/4" apart top to bottom if you want to verify

@JesseM Well, I am too embarrassed to tell you about my 7 pin tow plug...so I will skip over that for now. After dozens of hours trying to learn about towing wiring I still have major holes in my understanding. While trying to figure out why none of the pins on the tow plug would register any voltage, I checked all the connections and all the fuses listed in the owner's manual. I then proceeded to want to check the relays. Low and behold, the Tow Battery Charge Relay was not installed, nor was the Trailer Tow Backup Relay. This puzzles me because I thought since the Eddie Bauer trim came with a Class II towing option, these relays would be include. What am I missing. Now if you can't answer these questions off the top of your head, please don't feel obligated to respond. I understand that you are probably quite busy. Regards, Scott Ingraham

@ScottI Hey Scott that is really strange but honestly its not unheard of. Different vehicle manufacturers have very different definitions of what their tow package consists of. Sometimes the "tow package" will not include an actual trailer connector, or fuses will be missing. This would be the first we have heard of this being the case with the 2000 Ford Expedition, but we don't see a whole lot of these around anymore. Also its Ford and nothing they do will surprise me at this point lol. It sounds like if you can get those fuses installed you should be good to go. Do feel free to come back and let me know if there is anything I can do to help! We do stay busy but I will always get back to you :)
