Will Roadmaster Base Plate Kit for 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE Require Removal of Skid Plate

Question:

I have a 2024 Wangler Rubicon X 4xe, with steel bumper No winch. Our RV is equipped with a Roadmaster Nighthawk that is 3 yrs old. Can the direct connect baseplate Roadmaster 521453-5 be installed without having to remove skid plate ? Also, which wiring kit would be needed ? We are also going to be purchasing the Roadmaster Invisibrake system as well. Thanks,

Hi Lisa; the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521453-5 will require trimming your skid plate. You will remove it, trim it as seen in the picture below, and reinstall it when you're finished. There is really no way around this, and the same is true for other base plate kits.

I'm assuming you already have part of your wiring from the Nighthawk # RM-676. If you have the ParkSense proximity sensors you need the # RM47ZR and if you do not have ParkSense the # RM-154 to complete your wiring. Since you want to install the Roadmaster InvisiBrake # RM-8700 you will also need the Roadmaster Universal Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751000.

Thanks! One more clarification for the Invisibrake RM-8700. Is it compatible with the ‘24 Wrangler Rubicon X 4xe? It says in the description, under “specs”, that it is “NOT compatible with Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s with non-electric hydroboost braking systems”. Not sure what that means. The website shows the green check mark and says “Confirmed to Fit”. I’m a little confused about this. Thanks

@LisaB that is just a general note saying "NOT compatible with vehicles with non-electric hydroboost braking systems." It is confirmed to fit so it will work with your Jeep. According to Roadmaster, your vehicle has the equivalent of full-time, "active" brakes so you will want to start the brake pressure on the InvisiBrake at 20 psi and adjust up if additional braking force is desired.
