Question:
I am a 72 year old grandma who loves to fish, and am frustrated with bank fishing. Im lookong at buying a Brooklyn 14.0 Pro Tandem Pedal Kayak PK14 and I own a Toyota Tacoma 2004 pickup truck. The kayak is too big to carry in my truck, so I thought a small trailer would make it easier for me to launch my kayak. The kayak is 35inch wide and 14foot long. I am on afixed income so I want to make sure your trailer will be a ,,good fit for my kayak, plus I need you to tell me what else I will need, keeping in mind my fixed income. I dont want to buy your trailer and have it arrive only to find out I need additional items. Please list items as necessary or optional and why. Make sense? Thank you. model Brooklyn 14.0 Pro Tandem Pedal Kayak PK14

Hello Carol, I also love to fish, so I don't blame you for wanting to get off the banks.
The CE Smith Multi Sport Plus Boat and Kayak Trailer w/ Bunks - 12" Wheels - 14' Boat - 800 lbs # CE48870 will work great for the Brooklyn 14.0 Pro Tandem Pedal Kayak PK14. I went to their webiste and checked out all the specs. This trailer can handle Kayaks up to 14 feet long, so that puts you at the limit for the length. The width is 54" so that gives you plenty of wiggle room.
To be able to hook the trailer up to your 2004 Toyota Tacoma it will require a ball mount with a 2" ball, if you do not have one already then I recommend Draw-Tite Ball Mount w/ 2" Ball for 2" Hitches - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 7,500 lbs # DT49MR. Another great point about this ball mount is that it also come with the pin and clip to secure it to your 2" receiver.
You will also need tie downs for securing the kayak to the trailer, if you do not have some already I recommend that you grab a set of BoatBuckle Pro Series Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps - 1" x 3' - 400 lbs - Qty 2 # IMF18740.
If your Toyota Tacoma did not come with the the tow package please let me know so I can find the right hitch and wiring for you. This trailer does require 4 flat wiring connector on the vehicle end to plug into.
With this new set up you will be out on the water catching big ones in no time!
