Towing Capacity of a 2005 Dodge Durango, Not a Hemi
Question:
I need to know if you guys by chance happen to have on record or otherwise, the towing capacity of the 2005 Durango not a hemi? I really appreciate your help with this request. I only need an estimate/range and not exact. I wanna get this hitch, but I keep getting mixed reviews about the towing capacity of my truck some say 5,000 and some say up to 6,000. Which one is it. Thank you kindly for your time and for all you do.

According to the owners manual for the 2005 Dodge Durango, the base model tow capacity is 2,000 pounds. But the Ram truck owners manuals say the same thing. You have to go to the Dodge towing website to determine the actual towing capacity. Which is exactly what I did.
For the 2005 Dodge Durango:
4 wheel drive Limited, Adventurer, and SLT models with 4.7 liter V8 and 3.55 rear end the capacity is 5,700 pounds. With 3.92 rear end the capacity is 7,200 pounds.
4 wheel drive ST and SXT models with 4.7 liter V8 and 3.55 rear end the capacity is 5,850 pounds.
2 wheel drive Limited, Adventurer, and SLT models with 4.7 liter V8 and 3.55 rear end the capacity is 5,900 pounds. With 3.92 rear end it is 7,400 pounds.
2 wheel drive ST and SXT models with 4.7 liter and 3.55 rear end the capacity is 6,000 pounds.
2 wheel drive Limited, Adventurer, and SLT models with 3.7 liter V6 and 3.92 rear end the capacity is 3,650 pounds.
2 wheel drive ST and SXT models with 3.7 liter V6 and 3.92 rear end the capacity is 3,750 pounds.
