Recommended Replacement Support Arm for a Sears SV-20 Sport Cargo Box

Question:
Trying to replace the support arm on an older sears cargo sport 20sv. Purchased a Yakima arm that looked similar but can not seem to get it to go over the ball joint on the carrier itself. The top while fits because it is more of a cylindrical post but the bottom support is a true ball that I can’t get this Yakima arm to go over. Any thoughts?

Hey Drew, you're probably having trouble with it because it's not meant for that box. You need to be using the Replacement Dual Force Strut for Thule Roof Box # TH14933 instead, which is the correct replacement.

Well I got it on right after I emailed you. The only problem is it’s not strong enough to hold that side up. No worries it will atleast help

Hey Bryce, so the end with the ball socket fits great with the part number you sent me but the other end that has the cylinder shape does not want to go on?? Do I just need to hit it harder?
