I change my old dometic ac to advent and the dometic thermostat throwing e1 error while advent thermostat throwing e5

Hello Berna, so the Dometic thermostat E1 error and the Advent thermostat E5 error basically mean the same thing; that the controller and thermostat are not communicating correctly. Since you are getting this error with both thermostats, that is a pretty clear indicator that something is wrong. The first thing to do is to open up the distribution box and inspect all of the wiring for any damage or improper connections. If all of that checks out it could mean you simply have a bad controller.
I am not sure exactly what kind of AC system you have but it may be possible to replace the controller, or you may have to replace the unit entirely, it really depends on what you have a how old it is. It may be worth taking your camper to a certified RV AC technician.
