For a hitch that fits your 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude I recommend the etrailer # e62TR. The # DT28MR you were looking at is only designed to fit Trailhawk models. The etrailer hitch has a concealed cross tube so only the receiver will be visible at the back. It also has a matte black finish which gives it a rugged OEM look.
For wiring, the most reliable option is the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118605. This plugs into the connection points behind your tail lights. Once installed, you will have a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights.
Since it sounds like you plan on towing you will also need a ball mount like the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
The hitch and wiring both come with step by step instructions. We also have installation videos on a 2016 Cherokee like yours which you can check out below.
