Can 100 ft Extension Cord be Used with Bright Way Battery Charger for Dump Trailer

Question:

If I run a 100 foot, 12 AWG extension cord to my dump trailer and plug into this charger, will there be any voltage or other “drawbacks” to worry about with it actually draining my battery? You guys know how dump trailers are…super sensitive. Thanks

Hey Ryan, thanks for reaching out!

The only drawback you'll really see with a 100 ft extension cord and the Bright Way Switch Mode Battery Charger # BRW77FR is that the charging might not be as effective as you would see with a smaller cord. This is simply from natural voltage drop that occurs over longer distances though so the only way to "fix" it would be to park your trailer closer to an outlet.
