How To Remove Risers from Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carrier

Published 02/08/2023

Question:

Hi folks- I put together my new Thule Snow Pack 4 rack yesterday. In my photo, you see two square black parts between the strap/clamps. These each have a hole in their middle, and slide back and forth along the bar. Since I think Ive attached the strap/clamps correctly, 1 what are these parts for and 2 if theyre unnecessary, is there a way to safely remove them? I thought about just pulling them off, but didnt. I also dont see these two parts on this model in any web photos Ive seen. Thanks for your help! Peter C

It looks like you have the risers installed on the bottom of the Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carrier part # TH7324, these are not required but sometimes needed for certain skis with tall bindings. They can be removed by simply pull them out and away. I have attached a photo from the instructions that explains this.
