Troubleshooting Trailer LED Light Bar Not Working with 2017 Ford F-150 7-Way

Question:

I have a 2017 F150 Truck using a 16 inch 12 Red LED Trailer Light Bar [Brake + Sequential Turn Signal] on my boat trailer. The light is wired to a 7 pin plug. The lights work perfectly Turn, Brake, Running Lights when I turn the ignition key to on. But when I start the truck the whole light bar lights up and nothing else works no turn, running lights, etc..

It sounds like you're needing the Trailer Connector Adapter w/ Lamp-Out Sensor Bypass # 20142. Your 2017 Ford F-150 likely has the lamp-out sensors on them which is why you're seeing this issue, and the bypass here is like a work-around and will help the LED light bar function properly.

This was designed around foreign cars like Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and Porsche but some of the American manufacturers decided to get fancy with the lighting as well and it's caused problems like this for a while now.
