Troubleshooting ECN On Firestone Ride-Rite Wireless Controller
Published 11/16/2022 >
Question:
I purchased a 2011 f-150 and it came with firestone airbags with the bluetooth controller. Theyve worked great for 6 months but now the remote just says ECN. I know it means that the controller has nothing to connect to or the compressor isnt turned on but i dont know what to do to turn it on. Thanks in advance!

On the harness for the Firestone compressor there are a few parts you will need to check. You will need to first locate the compressor and follow it to the ECU. Check the connector to ensure it is not loose or damaged. You will continue to follow the wiring and you will find a relay as well as the power wires. On the power wires you have a red wire with 20-amp fuse, black ground wire and yellow wire which connects to an ignition power source. You will need to check the fuse and relay to determine if either are damaged and preventing power from getting to the ECU. Next you will need to check the ignition source wire to ensure it is receiving power as well. From there you can test the wiring with a Test Light # PTW2993 to verify the wiring is not damaged inside the harness.
