Question:
I have purchased a 16foot enclosed trailer with wood deck. I am contemplating installing the e-track versus d-rings after reviewing comments by other customers. I will be transporting a 900lb Harley. What components would you recommend, i.e., 2 8foot lengths of Erickson e-track, tie down hooks, etc to complete this job? Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
If you need the track the entire length of the trailer then going with 6 of the 5 foot sections, # E19148, would be the way to go. But if you only need part of the trailer equipped then I would put one track on each side of the bike.
When installing the E-track to the trailer floors or walls you will want to use the appropriate hardware for the material you are attaching to.
Also it may be necessary to put a backing plate # e96RR on the other side of the floor or wall for extra support.
With the E-track installed you can then use the D-ring, # E59143, to tie off to. I also recommend handlebar strap # 06303, for the bike. It has loops to go around the handle bars on each side so you do not damage the bike with hooks or other fasteners found on some straps.
