How To Read Trailer Tire Load Ratings

Question:
what does 113/108L mean? He said what the 113 number meant and the 108 number meant in terms of lbs the tire can carry...but why 113/108? Which load can it carry...somewhere between the two ratings?

Expert Reply:
So the 113/108 rating has to do with single or dual axles. If this is for a single axle application, then load index is 2,535-lbs, whereas if this were used on dual axles, then the load index is 2,205-lbs.
The L at the end has to do with the maximum speed rating. So with your tires have an L rating, the maximum speed rating is 75-lbs.
