Question:
I was wanting to upgrade my wheels and tires on a 1989 Coleman Columbia popup and was wondering if I was able to go larger wheel or tire on the stock axle? Thank you for your time and help.

You can go to a larger wheel or tire on your stock axle as long as the wheel matches the current bolt pattern and you have enough clearance with the larger size. It looks like you have something like a 205/65-10 tire similar to the # AM1HP50 with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern right now so we will use this as an example.
The # AM1HP50 has an outer diameter of 20.8" and an 8.3" section width. This has a large section width so the inside clearance probably wont' be a problem and you will want to focus on the height. If you wanted to move to a 12" wheel and tire like the Taskmaster 4.80R12 Radial Trailer Tire # TT48012C you would actually have a slightly smaller overall size with an outer diameter of 20.63" and 4.84" section width so clearance wouldn't be an issue.
A 5.30R12 tire like the # TT53012C has an outer diameter of 21.57". This means you would lose .385" of clearance on the top. To find the loss of clearance you take the difference in the size and divide it by 2. It is recommended to have at least 3" of clearance on the top and 2" on the inside of the tire for normal suspension travel. Assuming you would still have this much clearance you could get the larger tire. Either of these could be used with the # AM20140 or # AM20151 depending on your bolt pattern.
