Question:
Hello Experts, I am looking at a 2nd hand 2014 Jeep Patriot FWD manual transmission to tow behind my motorhome, 4 wheels down. Can you provide me with the equipment needed for this vehicle to tow 4-down? Or tell me if this vehicle should not be towed 4-down? I am partial to Blue Ox if applicable.

Good news, your 2014 Jeep Patriot FWD with a manual transmission can be flat towed!
For a complete setup, you'll need a base plate, tow bars, tow bar wiring, safety cables, a braking system, and more than likely, a high-low adapter.
For a base plate, since you mentioned you wanted to stick with Blue Ox, I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1130.
This base plate kit will work wonderfully with your Jeep, and will pair nicely with the next required item, the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates # e47ZR.
This tow bar has a maximum weight capacity of 6,000lbs, which should be more than enough to handle the weight of your 2014 Jeep Patriot.
Following the tow bar, you're going to next need tow bar wiring. I recommend going with the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154. This is an easy to install kit that will connect your RV's tail, brake and turn signal lights to your towed car's lighting system.
Since the tow bar has included safety cables, you won't be needing to purchase them separately, however to continue, you'll need a braking system.
I recommend going with the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Supplemental Braking System # RM-9400. This is a portable braking system that makes transferring this unit from vehicle to vehicle, easy and quick.
You will need the 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332 and the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751461 if your Patriot has adjustable pedals. If not, you'll need # RM-9332 & # RM-751460 instead.
When choosing your high-low adapter, you're going to need to measure the rise and drop needed. I have included a FAQ going into detail on how you can accomplish this and choose the correct adapter.
