Question:
Hi, will the Saris Bones 2 bike rack work on a Honda CRV for a cross-country trip and if so, where would be the best place to place the two bottom padded feet? Can they be placed on the bumper? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Saris Bones 2 # SA805BL is a great bike rack for cross-country trips. The 6 adjustable nylon straps with ladder lock buckles secure the rack to your trunk securely for long travel.
As far as the placement of the best placement of the two bottom feet on your 2008 Honda CR-V, Saris recommends that the lower feet should be placed on the license plate well instead of the bumper. If the rack is not positioned in the license plate well, the rack will be off-balance. Also, in order to attach the lower straps to your particular vehicle, you will either have to place the lower hooks inside the trunk or purchase the Saris Hatch Huggers # 3035.2
