The Furrion Chill Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Brisk Setup - 15,500 Btu # FR42PV has multiple drain holes throughout the bottom of the unit. I've attached a photo from a Furrion tech where she highlighted all of the drain holes.

Hi Kevin. How do I unclog the drain holes on a Furrion rv air conditioner. This is my first trip out to Florida with our Grand Design Imagine RV, and after running the air conditioner all night, it started dripping water. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks, Dave

@DaveM The condenser unit is going to leak water onto the roof of your RV as the system runs. Furrion has the most drain holes out of all of the units that I've seen to help spread out the condensation so that it's not a stream and can evaporate before rolling off of the roof. If the drain holes are clogged you can use a pick or needle to clear them out.

@KevinC where are the drainage holes located that need to be cleaned out?

@Amber The picture above showing the bottom of the rooftop unit shows the drain holes highlighted in yellow. They pretty much cover the bottom of the pan to allow the water to escape without building up.

What? Are customers who buy the Furrion AC unit going to have to remove the AC unit in order clean the drain holes? What a terrible design. I love my Furrion...right up to the point where it started dropping water inside of the RV. My RV is stored inside and only used 3-4 times a year. Poor design of the drains. Customers should be able to get to them easily as every RV has this issue at some point. I would have at least hoped that it would have been after significant use, not after very limited use. There has got to be a better way then removing the whole unit to get to the underside. What do techs in the field do?

@BruceW You could stick a pick or needle into the drain holes from the top of the pan by just removing the shroud. If you really needed to remove the unit it's just held in place by 4 bolts which can be accessed by removing the cover on the air distribution box. I do agree with you on it being inconvenient though. I believe with this design having so many holes they were hoping it wouldn't clog or hold condensation as much like some models do that only have a single drain line.

@Doreen Furrion AC units have multiple holes to allow built up condensation to escape onto the roof and either roll off or evaporate. Depending on how hard the unit is working and how hot it is you can see quite a bit of condensation. When My family goes camping we set the camper just slightly off level to force the condensation to roll up to the front where we have a gutter spout # 372655-FLEX-PW-A mounted to drain the condensation into one spot. Every camper will be a bit different depending on the arc of the roof so the right angle for yours might be a bit different.
