Question:

Hi, I have an older harbor freight 48” x 96” utility trailer. I wish to upgrade the axle so i can put 12” tires on it. Would this Dexter axle compatible to my trailer? Can i use the existing u bolt and hub? Thanks.

To determine fit, the width of your trailer should be the same as the spring seat center to center measurement on the axle (48 inches). The # T20BTR-6048 lines up fine there. If these bearings fit your hubs, inner bearing L44649 and outer bearing L44649 would be compatible with this axle. The hubs on this axle should accommodate 12 inch wheels with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern. I would go ahead and replace the u bolts to prevent any potential thread misalignment.

The U-Bolt Kit for Mounting 2,000-lb # APUBR-10 should work fine for you.
