Question:
I recently installed a Tekonsha p3 brake controller in my 2017 Chevy Express 3500. The kit didn’t come with a fuse tap. How would I wire it into the engine compartment to get power to the brake controller.

When installing the Prodigy P3 brake controller # 90195 with Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 in your 2017 Chevy Express 3500, you are correct that you will need a fuse tap, which is the Firestone Fuse Circuit Tap Kit # F2526. You will also need some extra 16 gauge wire # 16-1-1 and Heat Shrink Butt Connectors # DW05744-5.
If you go to about the 13:00 mark of the linked video showing this brake controller being installed on a '17 Chevy Express you can see the exact process needed to use the fuse tap during your installation.
