Troubleshooting No Power for Left Turn and Brake Lights for Trailer Connector on 2018 Chevy Equinox
Updated 07/02/2019 | Published 07/01/2019 >
Question:
After reading all of the questions and answers, I ordered Curt c13307 hitch and the C94FR wire harness as the car had the plug adapter under the rear bumper. All went well, the hitch installed great and the plug in wire harness went OK also. Did not use the relays . Put a light tester at the plug and everything seemed OK. Lights and turn signals. Plugged in magnetic lights I have used before and right turn OK , running OK but no left turn or left brake light. Thought I blew a fuse but no. Plugged in a trailer same thing. Any ideas? Light tester at plug does not work until I shut off engine then turn it on, meanwhile everything else works. If you need to talk I can give you a phone # or give me one in email. Thanks

Since the issue you described is happening both with a trailer and with your magnetic tow lights I do think the culprit is a blown fuse or bad relay on the vehicle. I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2018 Chevy Equinox and there are a few different fuse panels so you want to make sure you are looking at the correct one.
Inside the rear compartment fuse block, which is located behind the trim panel in the rear cargo area, there is a fuse in the F18 position and a relay at the K3 position. Both of these are for the left trailer turn/stop light circuits and most likely one or both of these just need to be replaced.
If this does not resolve the issue please let me know and we can continue to troubleshoot.
