Does Replacement Motor for Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear Have Slip Clutch

Updated 05/28/2019 | Published 05/23/2019

Question:

I have a 2006 Montana 5th wheel and believe the RV1-200 landing gear motor is starting to fail. Under a lifting load, the “slip clutch” in the motor begins clicking and will not lift the trailer off the truck or high enough to reconnect. Does the replacement motor have the same “slip clutch” as the original motor? What part number should I order? Thank you

Expert Reply:

The Replacement Motor for Stromberg Carlson Electric Landing Gear # LG-142178 that you referenced, as well as the other replacement landing gear motors, will not have a slip clutch like your RV1-200 motor. This motor will be a great replacement so long as the mounting hole spacing on your current motor is the same at 4-1/8" on center (measured diagonally, straight across).
