Barker Manufacturing VIP 3000 Jack Will Retract but Not Extend
Question:
The up mode of my Heavy-Duty levelrite Hi power 3000 jack will not lift. I replaced the switch with a new one from the manufacturer and put in a new circuit but still no lift. The jack works when put in the down mode. What do I need to do now?

The most likely cause of the issues you are having with your Barker Manufacturing VIP 3000 Jack is going to be either a poor power source or bad ground. I recommend you check to make sure you have a full 12 volts going into the jack. If so then I would reground the jack after sanding down the surface or reattaching the ground wire. If you don't have 12 volts on the power wire then make sure the battery is fully charged and there are no breaks in the wire. The jack would still retract but not extend with limited power or a poor ground.
If all else fails and the manufacturer cannot help you, you will be best off to just replace the jack. I recommend the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack part # UF38-944017 because it has zerk fittings for easy maintenance which then extends it's life and it also comes with a two year warranty. It has the same lights for visibility and manual override as most other electric trailer jacks as well.
