Question:
Hello, I’m new to all this hauling trailer stuff, I have a quick question and hopefully I get an answer. What is the best size trailer to get for a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport 2.4L? 5050lb gvwr and 2000lb towing capacity.

If the towing capacity of your 2016 Jeep Cherokee Sport with the 2.4 I4 engine is 2,000 lbs then the gross weight of the trailer cannot exceed 2,000 lbs. I am not totally sure what you are looking for as a size clarification but for trailer's under 2,000 lbs you will be looking at options like select Riverside Retros, Forest River Flagstaff E-Pros, Palomino PaloMinis, Jayco Hummingbirds, and Forest River Rockwood Geo Pros.
In order to set your Cherokee up for towing you will need a trailer hitch, trailer wiring harness, and ball mount/hitch ball. For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13172 because it is a custom fit with hidden design (see photo). For a trailer wiring harness, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C56208 which is a plug and play option with no splicing required. Finally, for a ball mount/hitch ball, the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit part # 989900 should have you covered.
I have attached some install videos for you as well.
