Installing Wiring for an Electric Brake Controller on an Isuzu N-Series Truck

Question:

Are the Isuzu npr 14500 gvw factory wired for trailer brakes or do I need to run the wires ? There is no brake controller in the cab.

The Isuzu NPR models are not factory wired for an electric brake controller. If you already have a 4-way trailer connector, then you will use the wiring kit # ETBC7 to hardwire your brake controller. If you already have a 7-way trailer connector, then you can use the wiring kit # 5506 to hardwire your brake controller. I've attached some videos and an article to assist. This wiring can be used for any brake controller.

My recommendation for your brake controller is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This brake controller has an easy to read LCD screen that removes deciphering codes and gives your clear diagnostic information to ensure proper connection and operation. It also has preset brake boost options for trailers of different sizes. It is a customer favorite and I've attached a video to show you the features that set it apart.
