Can Truck with Firestone Ride Rite Kit be Jacked Up by Frame

Updated 05/13/2025 | Published 10/08/2018

Question:

I have the Firestone 2525 air bags installed on my 2014 F-150 Lariat 4x4. It appears that if the truck were jacked up by the frame for something like replacing the rear shocks, it would be hanging from the air bags because the shock travel is longer than the air bags at full extension. Is that OK? It doesnt seem like you would want the weight of the whole rear axle and tires hanging on the air bags.

Yes, I confirmed with my contact at Firestone that if you jack up the frame of your truck with the Firestone air bag kit part # F2525 installed you'll be totally fine. The bags will stretch due to the weight of the truck but Firestone assured me that it's not bad for them in any way.

Thanks for that answer. I had my tires rotated at Costco and asked them to take into consideration that I had the Firestone ride rites on the rear. They jacked my 2015 Ford F150 up by the frame. I wasn’t sure about that. So I turned to the internet and this response from etrailer popped up. Thanks again for easing my anxiety!!
