Question:

I have a 2011 F150 XLT 4X4 and i purchased the fifth wheel hitch mounting kit from you guys this past summer. The mounting brackets are outside of the frame rails and there is one bracket per side, not the 2 L-brackets per side. Im looking for what air bags are compatible with this type of hitch style. Im only considering air bags, and have no interest in those Timbren bumpstop type springs.

According to my Air Lift representative, their LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Spring Kit # AL57200 mounts to the underside of the frame member, and the existing frame brackets for your fifth wheel hitch would not interfere with the installation of the air springs. I've looked at install photos for the hitch mounting brackets and the installation instructions for the # AL57200 spring kit, and I agree with my Air Lift rep that the spring kit will be compatible with your existing fifth wheel hitch mounting brackets.

You might also be interested in a compressor system like part # AL25592 that would allow you to adjust the pressure in your air springs with the flick of a rocker switch.
