Troubleshooting Jensen RV Stereo/DVD player # JWM60A

Question:

I recent purchased this unit and connected it outside the Enclosure and had problems reading a music DVD reg.. I along with the stereo purchased a Composite to HDMI cable running off the USB on the front side and connected to the rear of the unit with an HDMI cable out to the TV . After returning it to the Enclosure the unit would not read the disc sending Disc. Error msg. in front of the unit I checked the unit for lock down screw of the disc player but found none. What could the problem be . Tried with multiple simple DVD discs and received the same Error msg.

The Jensen Stereo # JWM60A most likely needs to be reset. The connections you mentioned are most likely causing issue if I understand correctly because you will only be able to use one input signal at any given time. If you are using the USB input, then the disc input won't be able to work and vice versa because they are different sources.

I've attached the owners manual for you to check out and determine playback function as well as the reset information.

Awm970 stereounit in our Rv everything works but the DVD player. Do you have any idea how to troubleshoot it won’t read our dvd

The common issues are either it is the certain DVD that won't read or there is a deck mechanism issue. The Jensen tech says to try resetting the DVD deck mechanism and the main unit. First, press the reset button, which is located just above the "DOLBY DIGITAL" logo on the lower left side of the unit. Use a paper clip or ball point pen to gently press that for about 1 second. Next, press and hold the EJECT button for 3-4 seconds. You should hear the DVD deck mechanism make noise as it resets. See if these steps get your unit working again. When you re-test, make sure you are using original discs in good condition.

I have this same unit, but my problem is that the DVD wont stay in the player. I can still see just a piece that won't go all the way in, and then in a few seconds it spits it out again

Have you tried resetting the unit like Jason mentioned above? Most likely the deck mechanism just needs to re-calibrate.

Jensen JWM60A. The zone output for sound only works on zone B. No sound for zone A and C. This unit is in an t.v. and it my not have all three zones but i t should have at least two zones, inside and out. Only the outside speakers work. Thanks for any suggestions

The only thing I can recommend is to simply make sure the outputs at the back of the stereo are still securely connected. If you haven't already, also try resetting the unit as described above. If this doesn't work there may be an internal issue that requires a replacement.
