Troubleshooting Front Wheels Lifting on Dual Axle Trailer
Question:
I have a dual axle 15’ trailer and carry my Yamaha Rhino UTV as well as farming supplies like seed, fertilizer etc. With no load after parking and unloading, letting it rest for a week and then hitching up the front tires axle comes off the ground when I pull forward. I Then pull forward and get resistance when pulling forward. I pull forward and the trailer wheels comes slamming down. I pulled it a few miles w a load with no issues, then turned around and came home. What’s up with this and should I bring it in for repairs? Thanks!

It sounds like your shackle straps are binding or flipping and this should not be, so you will want to determine the cause of your suspension issue. It could be shackle strap length, equalizer length, or leaf spring length causing the issue. I recommend having it looked at because an axle off the ground and slamming down will cause damage over time.
I've attached an article on suspension to assist.
