Can a BMW R1200RT Motorcycle be Carried on DK2 5x7 Utility Trailer Using a Wheel Chock and Straps

Is it possible to install a motorcycle chock to bed of DK2 5x7 utility trailer and safely carry a BMW R1200RT motorcycle approx. 600lb.? If so, which chock and tie-downs would you recommend?

Expert Reply:
Yes you could mount a chock such as Rack'Em Manufacturing Removable Wheel Chock # RA-17 to the deck of the K2 trailer # K2MMT5X7 and then use it to transport your BMW motorcycle. I do recommend getting a steel sheet up to 1/8 inch thick to use as a backing plate to disperse the force applied to the chock over a larger area. It would go on the under side of the deck. The Rack'Em chock will work for tires up to 6-1/2 inches wide.
For tie downs ShockStrap has a set of 4 straps specifically for motorcycles, # 297-7RSBB-M. With the built in shocks these straps won't accidently slip off.
Or you could use strap set # 06303 combined with traditional ratchet straps such as # 317-340720.
