Question:
I had purchased 4 new Carlisle 235/85R 16 G rated tires on Oakmont 345R, after having 2 blow outs to the keys. I had town after E rated. My rims are stamped 110 psi max and so are tires. Can I and should I run tires 110 psi cold, or would heat pressure build up be too much over max rating for rims. My old tires would rise up to around 95 psi set cold at 80 psi. Only running around 65 to an ocasional to 70 mph

Helpful Expert Reply:
Trailer tires should always be filled to the max psi listed on the sidewall while cold. The heat would indeed cause the pressure to build but not to a point where an issue would occur. You are taking around 10 psi and that would not be the cause of a tire blow out. A few other factors that can contribute to frequent blowouts are speed and weight. You will need to make sure you are within these guidelines in addition to tire pressure in order to minimize the chance of a blowout.
The best trailer tire we have in a ST235/85-16 is the Westlake Radial Trailer Tire part # LHWL410. This tire has a max psi fill of 110, load range G rating (4,400 lbs), and a speed rating L (75 mph). They come with a 5-year warranty including complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.
I have attached a review video on the above tire for you as well.
