Brake Winch for Use Pulling Seadoo Trailer Up Sandy Incline
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
Looking to pull my seadoo on a beach dolly fat tires from the water, through 20ft of sand and up my grass hill. The seadoo and trailer weigh about 1200lbs. There is a fairly steep incline of about 25* for about 30ft. Any recommendations?

Expert Reply:
Winch capacity requirements increase as incline does so for a 25-degree slope on sand you will need a high-capacity winch to overcome both the incline and the traction losses from the sand surface. I suggest a winch rated for three times your actual 1200-lb load.
A good option in a hand winch is the single-speed Dutton-Lainson 3500-lb-rated model with automatic brake, part # DL24844. You can use 25-foot wire rope # FWC3250100.
