Recommended Rail Kit for Older Draw-Tite Gooseneck Hitch # 8339 On 1994 Dodge Ram 2500

Question:

I got a flipover gooseneck hitch from a friend, but it didnt come with the rail kit. It doesnt have any brand names on it, but it has the numbers 0406 8339. It has 25000gvcw and 6250 tongue weight engraved on the top of the plate with a vehicle direction arrow also on it. Looks to be the draw tite 8339 model that has 6 square mounting holes for the carriage bolts, not the one in a few of the pictures that has 4 holes. What rail kit do I need to fit a 94 dodge ram 2500 with an 8 ft bed? Thanks

I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite regarding the # 8339 Gooseneck Hitch that you recently obtained. He did state that the older version of this model hitch featured the 6 square mounting holes that you are seeing on your system. The current model dropped these two holes and has just the 4 square holes at the corners of the plate, as you referenced. He stated that for this gooseneck hitch and your 1994 Dodge Ram Pickup, you will just need the Installation Rail Kit # 4439. This kit will work with both the older model that you have and the current plate that has the 4 holes instead of 6.
