Question:
We have a 1978 Fruhauf dump trailer Model # 24FTEND DUMP style ST. We have been over and over it and cannot find a VIN #. Any ideas for us. Thanks.

A trailer's VIN is typically found on the trailer tongue, somewhere near the coupler. Otherwise, it should be stamped somewhere along the trailer frame. Check up and down the frame for some kind of identification plate or numbers that are stamped into the metal itself.
If the VIN is nowhere to be found, another possible option is for your State Police to assign a new VIN for your. This can vary from state to state, so you will just need to check with your local State Police or DOT to see if this can be done.
