How Does the Andersen Hitch Install?
Question:
Can the Aluminum Block Adapter be installed onto the Kingpin so that the gooseneck ball can be toward the trailer? I believe this would allow more clearance to the sides of the bed while turning and going through dips on my 2017 Dodge Ram 2500 short bed. Currently it is installed on my Fifth wheel as shown in Picture. I have hit the bed of my truck a couple of times since June. Or is there another fix?

Expert Reply:
The gooseneck ball of the Andersen Ultimate # AM3200 that attaches to the fifth-wheel rails in your 2017 Ram 2500 can be turned either way; closer to the cab or closer to the rear axle. If you are having issues with hitting your truck, the best solution would be a fixed fifth wheel and a Sidewinder to allow for pivoting. These are king pin specific and would replace the king pin on your current fifth-wheel. I've added a link to a help article on Sidewinders which you may find useful.
