Question:
We are planning to pack one room of stuff including a mattress in a 5 x 8 U-Haul,tow it with a 2009 Honda Accord V6 Coupe and drive from Houston to Madison, WI. Which hitch and accessories do you recommend?

In order to safely tow with your 2009 Honda Accord, there are a number of parts you will need. The Curt hitch # C11085 is a class I hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 200 lbs. However, according to the owner's manual, your maximum towing capacity is 1,000 lbs, which is the number you will need to abide by. I took a look at U-Haul 5 x 8 trailers and it seems that their empty weight is 900 lbs, leaving you with little room to haul cargo.
If you find a trailer that works for you, there are some other accessories you'll need, such as a drawbar, # C45521. To hold the drawbar in place, you'll need a pin and clip, # F-4. A hitch ball is also going to be necessary, and a 1-7/8" ball that fits with this drawbar is # A-80.
The last thing you will need is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 118420, which is going to allow you to activate the U-Haul's brake lights and turn signals. I have added links to video reviews of these products which you may find helpful.
