What Adhesive Is Used For Valterra RV Waste Valves

Question:

Do you have to glue the no clamp side of the valve ? If so, first cut off the existing clamp, clean and glue. If glued, what do you recommend

The waste valve you came from, part # T58 is not a valve that uses glue because it is designed to attach to the RV side and the waste tube with the bayonet adapters on each side of the valve. We do have waste valves that do require gluing. I have attached a link to the waste valves we offer. You can use the filter on the page to find the correct size you need.

We do offer part # T50. This has a cap with a bayonet fitting that you attach your drain hose to. The other side of the valve is glued.

For the glue you can use the Valterra ABS Solvent Cement, part # A05-0303.

Just came back from camping and the black water valve was seeping and would not seal. Dealer said $450.00 and needed camper for a month to fix. During summer! Looking for a new cap with seal and found this bayonet valve that fit on end of drain and solved problem till this fall. It works so well and moves the fitting further out so I don not need to get on my knees to hook up the hose. I may fit this with glue weld and leave it.

I have the bayonet style mount, but was wondering if it is acceptable to use a little of the ABS solvent during installation to make it permanent?
