Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2010 Dodge Nitro and Max Towing Capacity for Dodge Nitro
Question:
I m buying a 2005 Jay flight camper I think it weights around 7600. Hopefully my 2010 Dodge nitro 3.7 v6 4x4 can pull this. However I need to know what kinda hitch and sway bar that I would need. Thanks for any advice!

I checked the owner's manual for your 2010 Dodge Nitro and when using weight distribution it has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds gross trailer weight. You would not be able to tow a trailer that weights 7,600 pounds.
If you are towing a trailer up to that 5,000 pound capacity I recommend the Fastway system # FA92-00-0600 which is rated for up to 600 pounds tongue weight and 6,000 pounds gross trailer weight but you will still be limited to 500/5,000 pounds since the vehicle is the lower rated component. For a compatible hitch ball you can use # EQ91-00-6100 for a 2-5/16 inch.
I have included some links on weight distribution and determining tongue weight for you to view.
