Towing a US Trailer with 4-Way with an Australian Vehicle with 7-Way Flat Connector

Question:

Does this converter work for the following: The towing vehicle is wired for separate turn indicators and separate brake lights. The trailer is a combined turn indicator and brake light system. The towing vehicle is an Australian automobile with their standard Flat 7 Pin connector. The utility trailer is American made with their Flat 4-Pin plug. Ive purchased a Flat 7-Pin plug that Im adapting to the Australian vehicle connector from the trailer. I understand the wiring methodology, but need a way to isolate the feedback so the turn indicators will operate independently.

The best way to get a US trailer to work with a separate wiring system is to go ahead and just add amber turn signals to the trailer. That way you just need the 2 turn signal lights and the proper trailer side connector to match the one on the tow vehicle. Converter # 118158 would not be needed. I have linked the lights we have that can be used as turn signals.

The other way would be to combine the circuits on the tow vehicle and install a 4-Way flat connector on it to match the trailer and not get any extra lights. For this I would go with wiring harness # 119250KIT because there is no cutting or splicing of wires required.
